32 Days to 2013

This last day of November, I attended a wedding, which reminded me that family, relations and friends do maketh a man's life.

A post I read recently, highlighted a line from The New Normal about family being who you choose and relatives who are chosen for you.

It is tough maintaining blood ties, but it is fulfilling for those who make it. While the rest, just make do with life and the close relations who surround.

I had a talk with a colleague today, and we were conversing about being taken for granted, when it was said that the fact that one feels affected, pretty much shows that the other person is significant enough. Another line that came about, was the mention of being more than a colleague a friend.

Is it intolerance on my part when I am irritated with people for speaking loudly and blasting music on their earphones which I do not want to be part of or is it my right as a passenger to expect a quiet ride home.

I have started to consciously ensure that I stop judging others. I have no rights to, and I believe in Confucius' silver rule which states - "Do not do unto others, what you do not want others to do unto you".

Today I took a long walk in the afternoon as a change and was rewarded with a beautiful sight of young children playing in a large grass patch. I saw innocence, excitement and freedom which I truly wish for grown ups.

45 Days to 2013

Today, I saw empty seats in the exam hall. I am not surprised as a part time education is far from easy. Juggling is really the deal.

Once the exam got done, I came out of the campus to a pour. It was an awesome downpour. The sort that one requires when they need a shower of blessings.

Rain has this symbolic connotation of being able to wash away or cleanse. While I looked on, I was really stunned at the beauty of nature interacting with its mankind - who scurry away, get drenched coolly or like me stare in amazement.

I do love nature. Nature has the ultimate ability to calm and soothe which I consider a huge blessing.

It has been a long day and its not ending yet. :) Prepping for the second exam which is tomorrow.

Nonetheless, I did not want to leave out a day of memories.
Today I realised, that opportunities is everything. They groom you to realise what is right and what needs to be improved.

Its raining quite a bit these days.

Since it is the second day of deepavali, I came back home to lamps on the pathway. The beauty of light in darkness.

Why am I counting down to 2013? Is it any different from any other year.

Actually I am savoring these days of 2012, which has been very memorable and lived gregariously. Every single day till 2013, I shall capture and enjoy all the moments. When 2013 comes, I will do it the same and better. Counting the days spent in the year making it a blessing.

Today is deepavali, the festival of lights. Indians who are Hindus celebrate this occasion as symbolic of the happiness derived from light in every sense including the victory of good over evil.

It was an exam to remember. One that I took after 5 years. It was nerve-wrecking and it was content driven. Now all I wish for it is to pass it.

I would like to learn acceptance. One characteristic which I would like to develop.
When I do, I would be a better person.

I do realise I am not perfect. I am striving for it.

When someone tells me, "you are not perfect", I cringe and I wonder how come. I reckon, its one thing for me to come to a realisation and for others to point it out.

Tomorrow it will be, 50 Days to 2013 and I will be sitting for an exam after 5 years. May all your best wishes be with me :)

I have all these adventurous thoughts running through my head - flying away to participate in projects that would give me the experience that I have always wanted.

Working with like minded people to build amenities for those who need it. Or just roughing it out, helping in small ways to make a difference.
It is a very tempting proposition.

On a side note, I do realise that nothing can stop someone from acting and deciding to deviate/rebel from their usual self.

As Mark Twain famously said - "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

I was on the train today when I got into a situation which I have always seen happen and disapprove of.
I have seen young people sit whilst older people or pregnant woman look on.

Today I was seated next to the priority seat when a lady who was a little to the hefty side boarded. I had spotted her, and was not able to decipher if the lady was pregnant.

She looked at me and stared as I looked at her and was wondering. As I shifted my gaze to the back, I saw a couple of young ladies laughing at me. Or perhaps my predicament.

I was not able to ask her outright and was not able to sit on. As I pondered, I decided to just walk away, making it look like I was getting down. As I stepped aside, I saw someone else approaching the seat only to backtrack after seeing the "pregnant" woman approach the seat.

I am glad I did move away. At least, I did give the seat to someone who needed it more than I did.

55 days to 2013

Today was crazy. Perhaps crazy is an understatement. I worked through morning till evening.

When i crossed the roads to work today, I took a risk in standing in the middle of the road whilst 2 cars were passing on either side of the road. I silently chided my rash action.

When I was on my way home, waiting at the traffic junction to cross, I made a move and took a step towards crossing the road only to realise it was the red man and it was the cars that were meant to go. Just as I was wondering why the man near me, was not crossing - when he looked across to give me a disapproving look of why is she moving ahead when she is meant to wait.

Hasty actions in moments where the mind is preoccupied. I have always wondered how people could be careless. Only when one realises or goes through the same, do they really understand.

It was a late start to the day and an early end to the day.
People maketh the experiences.

Today on my way to work, I saw humanity. Amongst the existence of naysayers and cynics, I saw two man buying food for a needy man who was gesturing that he was hungry and had no money for food. The two man, signalled the man to go ahead and purchase food on their account.

I have been stopped by a man with a urine pouch asking for money for his medical bills, a middle age man asking for money to buy food and an old man who needed coins to fund his transport back home. I passed some money in the first and last instance. In the second, I walked away.

After the first and third instances took place, I shared it with friends and family who mentioned that they too had donated to a man with a urine pouch who needed cash to pay for his medical bills and how that same man was seen shopping away on another day.

Friends had mentioned how it has become a trend for the old to go around asking for coins to collect just enough to gamble it away.

After hearing these recounts, I met the mid aged man, who I walked away from.

However, it felt good to have seen the two man who did buy the needy man food. Humanity is still alive.

A work day, Monday. I realise that memories are so surreal. The power of imagination and memories coupled together, it almost feels real. Interesting how you may have gone, but the memories you have created keep me going.

In another context, I am learning the ability to say no and am glad I am doing it. I reckon, its the ability to listen before jumping to answer.

I feel hurt now and then, and I still go on.

People, the nice ones, they keep me going as I am. The very thought of being sincere is so heartfelt. Mr A I felt it today, more than anything, that is it. It is not about surprises and its not about the cost. It is about the intention and the gratitude.

Today was a restful day with the neck sprain reducing, with the help of accupuncturing yesterday.

Today is Thimithi, always has been my wish to have been there. Blessings of sorts when I viewed it through the livestreaming. Boons of technology.

Today I browsed through Gives Me Hope - after a long time. It never fails to inspire me to keep going. Perhaps it serves to enlighten human beings around the world, through the experience of a blessing of one to others.

59 Days to 2013

Its been a while since I blogged. Incidentally the last blog i had was in the same name. I want to document things that I have done momentous each of these days leading up to 2013.

• G sits aside me as I type away. Blessing at its best and glad to have started this blog :)
• For a first, I had a surp for October, would love to replicate it this month and onwards
• Exams - 3 and yet to start revision, I will strive though
• Neck sprain, making me so tired. One of my biggest banes
• Vasantham has this new drama called ka and I like their theme song.Ka - Theme Song of Vasantham drama
• I heard a song of Maroon 5 by Boyce Avenue titled One More Night and am smitten One More Night Thinking Y
• Ms A had posted on FB these two images which I find inspiring (it became four - none of which is mine, whose ever it is - good job!)
